Parts

Part master data covers part manufacturers, part categories, and the material master data of individual parts. In the app you find them under Custom Inventory > Parts.

Part manufacturers

Part manufacturers are the companies that produce your spare parts. Individual parts can be assigned to a manufacturer.

1. Open Custom Inventory > Parts
2. Select Add part manufacturer
3. Give it a name

Note

The manufacturer differs from the supplier: the manufacturer produces the part, while the supplier is the company you typically source it from. You set the supplier in the material master data (see below).

Part categories

Part categories help structure parts and make them easier to find. You decide the scheme — e.g. by assembly, part type, or by the devices the parts are used in.

1. Open Custom Inventory > Parts
2. Select Add part category
3. Give it a name

Parts (material master data)

Under Add material you create the master data and ordering information for a part. These parts then become available for bookings and in stock and can be installed (see Inventory).

Master data fields

Field	Description
Material name	Unique name of the part
Part manufacturer	Manufacturer of the part
Part category	Category for structuring
Material number	Unique internal number, usable e.g. as a barcode or in search
Description	Free text describing the material in more detail

Ordering information

Field	Description
Supplier	Company you typically source the material from (≠ manufacturer)
Supplier number	Number identifying the supplier
Ordering information	Free text for your own use
Lot size	Quantity per procurement
Minimum order quantity	Smallest order quantity allowed by the supplier
Article number (manufacturer)	Number identifying the material at the manufacturer
Article number (supplier)	Number identifying the material at the supplier
