Tasks & Checklists
What are Tasks?
Section titled “What are Tasks?”A Task is an individual step or action within a work order. Tasks turn a work order from a simple record into a detailed checklist of things to complete.
Each task has:
- Title — What needs to be done
- Description — Detailed instructions (supports rich text)
- Duration — Expected time to complete this task
- Status — Pending, Started, Completed, Skipped, or Failed
- Files — Attached instructions, reference images, or documentation
Task statuses
Section titled “Task statuses”| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Pending | Not yet started |
| Started | Currently being worked on |
| Completed | Successfully finished |
| Skipped | Intentionally not performed |
| Failed | Could not be completed |
Loading tasks from Work Templates
Section titled “Loading tasks from Work Templates”Instead of creating tasks manually for each work order, you can load them from a Work Template. Work Templates are reusable checklists stored in the Knowledge Hub.
When you create a work order:
- Select the devices the work applies to
- Choose a Work Template
- The template’s tasks are loaded into the work order
- You can modify, add, or remove tasks as needed
Tasks per device
Section titled “Tasks per device”When a work order covers multiple devices, tasks are organized per device. This means you can track completion status independently for each device.
Adding spare parts to tasks
Section titled “Adding spare parts to tasks”Tasks can reference Spare Parts needed for the work. This helps technicians know what materials to bring and tracks which parts were actually used.
