Completion

When all tasks are done and the work is finished, change the work order status to Finished. This signals that the work has been completed.

When a work order is completed:

  1. Status is locked — The work order and all its tasks become read-only
  2. Timestamps are recorded — The completion date and the user who marked it done are saved
  3. Resolution duration is calculated — Based on the time between start and completion
  4. Inventory is updated — Any spare parts recorded in tasks are deducted from inventory
  5. Strategy is updated — If the work order was created by a Strategy, the next scheduled work order may be generated

If a work order should not be performed (e.g., the device was decommissioned, or conditions changed), you can mark it as Skipped instead of Finished. Skipped work orders are also sealed and preserved in the history.

Completed work orders are accessible through:

  • The History view in the Work Orders list
  • The Event Log on individual device detail pages
  • The Timeline showing all activities for a device

This provides a complete, unalterable audit trail of all maintenance and service work performed across your organization.
